Five days after Moses Kuria led docket announced the appointment of former journalist Jacque Maribe as the Head of Communications, The Public Service Commission has now refuted claims of her appointment to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management.
In a statement PSC Chairperson, Anthony Muchiri, has clarified that no such appointment has been finalized, and the board has not received any request to employ Maribe.
“For the record, the position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” Muchiri noted.
The refutal by PSC comes following widespread reports asserting that Maribe had secured the prestigious position, allegedly following her acquittal in the 2018 murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
However, Muchiri emphasized that for any appointment to occur, the PSC must officially announce a vacancy for specific position(s), followed by the shortlisting of applicants who meet the requisite criteria.
