Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has been elected to represent Africa and the Indian Ocean Region at the International Association of Prosecutors.
While in the committee the DPP will advance innovative strategies to tackle Transnational Organized Crime and enhance regional and international cooperation and collaboration in the prosecution of transnational organized crime.
While responding to this, Haji pledges to to strengthen international cooperation in the prosecution of TOC.
“The election of the DPP and the awarding of the office is an acknowledgement of the important place that Kenya occupies in the international criminal justice arena,” he said.
In the event, Haji also received a certificate of merit for housing the 4th Africa and Indian Ocean region and the East Africa Association of Prosecutors (EAAP) conference in Mombasa which took place early this year.
Haji has since been recognized as a visionary leader who has transformed the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution into one of the most responsive and independent offices to the needs of the people of Kenya.
