IEBC: All Marginalized Groups Will participate In Elections 

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has revealed an elaborate strategy that seeks to employ multiple approaches toward strengthening the participation of special interest groups.

The  commission has for the first time increased the participation of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the electoral process without unreasonable restriction’s,

Speaking at Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi during a pre-national election conference with the media, IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera said they had designed youth, women and disability inclusion committees that act as the link between the Commission and the special groups in information dissemination.

The Commission has procured polling booths, which can be accessed by persons who are physically challenged to ensure secrecy of their vote and convenience during the marking of ballot papers.

The commission has also produced voter information materials in Braille.
