The Azimio la Umoja one Kenya alliance council members are currently meeting to take stock of the campaigns with 45 days to the general election.
The meeting is being chaired by flag bearer Raila Odinga but the chair President Uhuru Kenyatta is away in Rwanda.
The meeting is deliberating on the party’s policies, as well as strategies to strengthen the party’s political campaigns.
This conference is also discussing the role of affiliate parties in the contest for different political seats.
Leaders present include; Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and DAP leader Wafula Wamunyinyi.
This second council meeting comes after the 21st April meeting which took place before the appointment of Martha Karua as Raila’s running mate.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, was to lead the council meeting as he is the council’s chairperson, but he is currently in Kigali, Rwanda at the 26th Commonwealth heads of government meeting.
