The Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya coalition has unveiled their Nairobi county aspirants, with Polycarp Igathe flying the City’s gubernatorial flag.
Igathe will have former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Philip Kaloki as his running mate.
Orange Democratic Movement’s Edwin Sifuna, will fly the Senatorial ticket and Esther Passaris will be the Women representative aspirant.
Speaking while unveiling the team at KICC after a consultative meeting, ODM leader and Azimio la Umoja Presidential Aspirant Raila Odinga said, Richard Ngatia and TIM Wanyonyi agreed to back down from their quests.
“We have had a meeting here, as the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition, and today we were talking about our Nairobi team. There have been consultations that have been going on for the last few days, and I’m happy to report that we have concluded and we’re ready now to unveil Team Nairobi for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya,” Odinga said.
Ngatia has been appointed as the trade envoy and Tim has accepted to go back and vie as Westlands Member of Parliament.
Another Jubilee Party aspirant Agnes Kagure will vie for Nairobi Governor’s seat as an independent candidate.
Igathe is the Equity Group Chief Commercial Officer, and was previously the Deputy Governor for Nairobi county, and resigned just three months after being elected into office as Mike Sonko’s deputy.
