Rigging claims in UDA Party primaries in Bomet County

Bomet County aspirants among them former Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion, have  raised  rigging claims at Tenwek High school in the UDA Party Nominations exercise.

The aspirants raised rigging claims at Tenwek High School just hours after the exercise kicked off on Thursday morning, saying it would undermine the integrity of the primaries, and called for the whole process to be called off.

Sossion who is seeking the Party’s Senatorial ticket further said, the ballot papers have been marked in favor of  particular candidates and there’s a defined lineup and team within the arrangement.

The Aspirants have rejected the process and now say the process cannot go on, until they have the right direction.

According to Sossion, who spoke to the media, marked ballots were discovered in some polling stations, and police from Silibwet, impounded some of the ballot boxes that were being transported to an unknown location.

The leaders accused the Chief Returning Officer of directing an opaque process.

The aspirants issued an ultimatum to the party’s National Executive Board, demanding that the matter be addressed immediately to allow for a democratic process.
