Business man Jimmy Wanjigi freed after court declines his prosecution

Businessman turned politician Jimmy Wanjigi has been set free after a Nairobi Court declined his prosecution  until the High Court issues a new directive on the previous ruling that prohibits his prosecution.

The Judge added that he cannot go against the directive that expires on 9th of February.

Earlier, Wanjigi claimed that his property worth more than 10 million shillings was destroyed by police during a raid at his Westlands office in Nairobi on Tuesday.

Through his lawyer Willis Otieno, Wanjigi said that the police broke into the office causing extensive damage.

Wanjigi was on Tuesday arrested by Anti-Terror Police Unit officers, following a warrant of arrest issued by a Nairobi magistrate’s court.

His wife Irene Nzisa and several others are also accused of fraud.
