LSK President Nelson Havi Petitions Over CBC Curriculum

President of the Law society of Kenya Nelson Havi has filed a petition in court seeking to stay further implementation of the Competency based curricula (CBC). In the petition, Nelson Havi is asking the court to declare Interior Cabinet Sectrtary Fred Matiang’i and Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha unfit to hold public office for implementing the CBC without involving parliament .

The Law Society of Kenya president also wants a bench of not less than 5 Judges to hear the petition . 

The CBC curriculum has come under fire after parents complained of being over involved in assignments . Some stakeholder also claimed that the curriculum was hurriedly implemented without proper training of teachers . 

George Magoha has however dismissed the claims and maintained that the CBC format of education will continue .

This comes even after Magoha in his last address stated that CBC is here to stay
