Robinson Wanjala Simiyu tops in KCSE exam results

Robinson Wanjala Simiyu is the  top candidate in   the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination  released on Monday .

Wanjala from Murang’a High School scored a mean of 87.334 and was  followed by Allan Wasonga  from Agoro Sare high School who scored  87.173.

The third and the top girl in the country was  Sharon Chepng’eno 87.173 from Kenya high school.

Releasing the results at mitihani house  Education CS George Magoha said the were impressive despite the learning challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic .

The  results recorded a total of 893 A plain with a total of 143,140 candidates having  scored C+ and above.

223 candidates with special needs managed C+  and above.

Magoha further said, the most improved candidates who include Cheruiyot Dennis, Maluti Tom and Kiptis Charity, will join the Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

Earlier, Prof George Magoha briefed  President Uhuru Kenyatta on the results at statehouse Nairobi.

President Uhuru congratulated the candidates for a great performance despite the Covid-19 challenges.

He also thanked the education sector stakeholders for the smooth administration of the examinations.
