The Senate committee to probe Wajir Governor impeachment to start hearings on Tuesday

The Special Committee  established by the  resolution of the Senate  to investigate the proposed removal from office of Wajir County Governor Mohammed Abdi Mohamud begin receiving evidence starting on Tuesday .

The committee  has already elected  elected Kisii senator  Okong’o Omogeni, as the chair and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika as the deputy.

The committee will hear form the governor and his lawyers and also the Wajir County representative before making the decision in 10 days .

Other members of the committee include Senators Johnson Sakaja, Mwangi Githiomi, Christine Zawadi Gona and Mithika Linturi.

Senators Hargura Godana, Fredrick Outa, Agnes Muthama, Petronilla Were, And  Issa Juma Boy are also part of the committee.

The Wajir Governor is accused of abuse of office and violation of the constitution.
