Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i has declared next Friday 14th of May a public holiday.
The day will be set a side for the Muslim faithfuls to celebrate Idul Fitr.
This marks the end of the month of Ramadhan.
The ministry of health has also warned that the celebrations must be carried out in accordance with the COVID 19 protocols.
Meanwhile the interior ministry has declared new allowances for the regional administration officers from the assistant chiefs upwards.
PS Karanja Kibicho said his ministry met with the public service commission and salaries commission for the extraneous allowances approval.
