Wiper party Agnes Kavindu bags Machakos Senatorial seat

Agnes Kavindu Muthama is the new Machakos Senator, after winning the Thursday by-election.

Kavindu who vied through the Wiper Party garnered 104, 352 votes tallied in all eight constituencies.

In her victory speech she pledged to deliver on her promises as well as supporting the President in his development agenda.

Kavindu said she will work hand in hand with Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and also called for cooperation from the locals and other leaders in the county.

Earlier, Kavindu noted that attempts of bribery had been seen. She however said, “they won’t succeed. Everybody is alert.”

She also drummed up presidential support for Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, come the 2022 general elections.

Meanwhile, Urbanus Ngengele of UDA party emerged second with 19, 726 votes.
