ODM Leader drums drums up support for BBI Bill at the Coast

March, 2nd 2021 – ODM leader Raila Odinga is currently drumming up support for the Building Bridges Initiative Bill in the Coastal Region.

Speaking in Mwatate area in Taita Taveta he urged the people to join hands in support of the bill adding that it will help them in the long run. The former Prime Minister earlier held a meeting with members of the Taita Taveta County Assembly in Voi ahead of the meet-the-people tour.

After Taita Taveta Odinga will later visit Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River and Lamu counties, in regards to the BBI.

Meanwhile, Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly has rejected the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill.

Speaker Philemon Kiplagat Sabulei says, 17 members of the county assembly voted against it while 15 others supported it.

It becomes the third County Assembly to reject the bill. Uasin Gishu and Marsabit counties are the only assemblies remaining to pass the bill.
