Prime suspect in the Jenifer Wambua murder to take plea next week

The main suspect in the murder of ex-National Land Commission deputy director of communications Jennifer Wambua will take plea on 26th of this month .

Suspect Peter Njenga alias Sankale was arraigned in a machakos court.

However Judge David Kenei ordered that he be detained for seven days.

The probe took a concerted effort by the DCI detectives, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) officers, Cybercrime detectives and the Special Service Unit (SSU) officers.

“The agencies have finally made a major breakthrough in nailing the main suspect involved in the gruesome murder of Jennifer Wambua,”

The DCI said on Facebook on Friday night, May 7.

The agency says Njenga committed the act with others, who are yet to be found.

“The detectives, through criminal intelligence, first forensically placed the suspect at the scene of crime,” the DCI said.

Kenei also directed the government to provide a pro bono advocate for the suspect.

The office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions has already  approved murder charges against the suspect .
