The Junior Starlets are ramping up their training sessions ahead of their crucial FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup first leg qualifier match against Cameroon, set for Sunday, April 20, at Nyayo National Stadium.
With just days to go, the team is focused, determined, and putting in extra hours on the pitch to fine-tune tactics and build cohesion.
The upcoming clash marks a significant step in the Junior Starlets’ journey towards the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the players are eager to showcase their talent on home soil.
The players have expressed confidence in both their preparation and commitment.
“We are going on well with the preparations ahead of the crucial fixture against Cameroon, a very experienced side,” said midfielder Bakari Mwanakombo at the training ground.
“After our training camp in Morocco, we are full of courage ahead of the fixture, and we will give our best to qualify,” Bakari added.
At the same time, Junior Starlets and Police Bullets defender Lorine Ilavonga echoed her teammate’s sentiments:
“We know the task ahead of us isn’t easy, but I believe in the team, and we have a plan against Cameroon.”
“I urge the fans to come and support us as we host Cameroon this Sunday at Nyayo Stadium, and we won’t fail them.”
With high morale in camp and unwavering support from the technical bench, the Junior Starlets are aiming to make a strong statement in the first leg before heading into the return fixture.
The team is calling on the home crowd to fill the stands and rally behind their dream of reaching the global stage for the second time after participating in the tournament last year.
