Kisiwa TTI men’s handball team battled to a hard fought 46-27 victory over struggling NYS in the 2024/2025 Kenya Handball League.
Kisiwa set the pace high in the first half, overpowering their opponents with a decisive 23-12 lead.
Oliver Chogea and Brian Ikadi scored the highest points each 12, to help their side clinch victory.
NYS defensive errors failed to uphold their opponent’s commanding defense and aggressive attack.
“From the training ground, the players were prepared mentally for the match. I acknowledge my players for the hard fought victory over a tough opponent,” Kisiwa TTI technical director George Wamalwa speaking after the match.
“Our main target this season is to qualify for the super league,we aim to finish among the best six teams in the league,” Wamalwa added.
On the other side, NYS head coach Joseph Kaemba remarked on technical errors leading to the loss.
“After the match I have realised our mistakes which we will have to go back on the drawing board,” Kaemba said.
“My players lacked alot in the game yet we were facing a tough opponent,” Kaemba added.
After the win, Kisiwa TTI side climbed to 19 in the league table with 7 points, while NYS remained in the relegation battle at position 23.
Elsewhere, Mountain Pripes remain winless in the league after suffering 43-18 to UOE Prippers.
Meanwhile in the Kenya handball women league, Kisiwa TTI outplayed Desert Scorpion to clinch a 46-19 victory.
