As the Junior Starlets took their last training session ahead of their return leg against Uganda U-17 on Sunday March 16 in the 2025 Fifa World Cup Qualifiers, the ladies have exuded confidence ahead of the game.

With a 2-0 lead advantage from the first leg, the final preparations were characterised by a fight for glory.

“Going into the return leg, we don’t want to concede because that is the first step of our next round qualification,” Starlets headcoach Mildred Cheche speaking at the training ground said.

“We are hosting a very good opponent, but our players are working very hard to fine tune the tactics from the technical bench. They have a lethal attacking midfielder who can shoot from anywhere, and we know the threat they uphold,” Cheche added.

The players too are feeling the weight in this crucial match, eyeing to make history in representing the country in the 2025 Fifa World Cup.

“We are ready to give our best for the country, the momentum is high and tactically we have everything we need from the technical bench,” Junior Starlets player Halima remarked.

“Our main goal is to qualify for the World Cup this year,” Halima added.

The Kenya U-17 women’s team is eying to qualify in the 2025 Fifa World Cup for the second time in a row, having qualified in the globaltourney in 2024.

Starlets host Uganda U-17 women’s team in the return leg on Sunday March 16 at Nyayo stadium.

The match will kickoff at 3pm.
