Obado has a case to answer in the murder of Sharon Otieno, court says

Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado has a case to answer in the murder case of Sharon Otieno and her unborn child.

A high court says the  prosecution has sufficient evidence that is pointing at Obado and two others  Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero to be at the centre of behind the gruesome murder that happened seven years ago.

The former governor submitted that he had an open relationship with Sharon Otieno and was willing to support her and their unborn child.

“The entire case as it relates to Mr Obado is about the relationship, pregnancy, the money he gave her for upkeep, and plans to buy her a home,” Kioko Kilukumi told the court last year.

His co accused also urged the court to acquit them, claiming that prosecution witnesses provided false testimony which were insufficient to support a conviction.

The decision now places the former county boss on defense with the court expected to outline a calendar of court proceeding to bring justice to the family of the former Rongo university student
