President William Ruto has exuded confidence in the new appointed cabinet secretaries Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui and William Kabogo during their swearing in state house Nairobi.
Ruto said the three, who will be taking up the Agriculture, ICT and Trade dockets respectively, will be bringing important skills and experience to realize the bottom up economic transformation agenda by mobilizing government machinery to deliver services to Kenyans.
The head of state also cautioned them against talking down on Kenyans but embrace patience when communicating government programs.
“While we must be firm and effective in our actions we should also approach our engagements with compassion and patience particularly when communicating with the public,” he said.
This as he urged the former president allies to shun corruption, become effective communicators and embrace austerity measures.
The President cautioned the CSs against tolerating corruption in their dockets, saying the officers must work extra hard to eliminate the vice in their portfolios.
“We must do more to minimise misunderstanding among all citizens in the collective task of national transformation,” he said.
Kagwe has previously served as Nyeri senator and a minister in both the Uhuru Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki governments.
The President said he served with Kagwe and Kabogo in Parliament when they were elected to the 9th Parliament and Kinyanjui later in the 10th Parliament.
