Waiguru Cautions Leaders Misleading Mt. Kenya to Abandon Kenya Kwanza Govt

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has urged the Mt. Kenya region to reject efforts by some leaders to pull them away from the Kenya Kwanza government.

In a clear message directed at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his allies, Waiguru emphasized that the people of Kirinyaga would not abandon the government for the opposition.

She also called on regional leaders to stop politicking and focus on fulfilling development promises to the people.

“We will not go to the opposition just because some people are bitter. What happened in the past has nothing to do with us, and we will not throw the baby out with the bathwater. It is not possible that all leaders are against one person unless that person is the problem. We want our community to be respected everywhere,” Waiguru stated.

She further emphasized that leaders in the region must recognize that public positions are held in trust and should not be used to hold the country at ransom over personal grievances.

“We will not bring down our house because its roof is leaking. We are wise and will stay in the house and repair it. Mt. Kenya voted for this government, and we must support it to benefit from the development projects that are underway,” she said.

Governor Waiguru also Pointed out  that Kirinyaga is greatly benefiting from projects initiated with the national government, stressing that abandoning the government at this point would jeopardize the progress made.

Waiguru made these remarks while opening a newly constructed dispensary in Kiandai, Ndia, Kirinyaga.
