Malala: Ichungwah and Mbarire want DP Gachagua impeached

Ousted UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala has hinted at  deepening wrangles within the President William Ruto led party as  he now claims that his removal from office was orchestrated by top UDA officials

Speaking after  he was unceremoniously removed from office two weeks ago, Malala has claimed that his ouster is connected to a plan to impeach the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Malala, he is perceived to be in the way of Gachagua impeachment plan, noting that he is backed by evidence including forged signatures and doctored national executive council meeting minutes penned by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa and the UDA party chairman Cecily Mbarire

“That this coup was plotted and orchestrated by two senior party officials alongside others within the party secretariat. These senior officials are Mrs. Cecily Mbarire, and Mr. Kimani Ichungwa, MP for Kikuyu constituency,” stated Malala.

Malala has further exonerated himself from subverting party activities that were among the reasons tabled by governor Mbarire leading to his ouster accusing her and Ichungwa of being the mastermind of de popularizing the party through sabotaging  grassroots election

“I will be disclosing the other 17 issues against them in due course, including and not limited to documentary evidence of efforts by the two, with their accomplices, to defraud the party, as well as manufacturing minutes of non-existent party meetings, and forging the signatures of the deputy president and myself, in attempts to access the party’s bank accounts,” he said.

“My next disclosure will also reveal attempts by the two coup-plotters and their accomplices, to intentionally and consistently run down and kill the UDA party through stalling of key party activities meant to popularize and expand the party.”

Malalah has now threatened to move to the  Internal Disputes Resolution Committee to petition against his removal which he has said was outright unlawful, unfair and a sheer blatant contravention of the party constitution and laid down due processes.

The former Kakamega senator stated that he was convicted and sentenced without trial because his aggressors had nothing against him.

Malala further labelled his immediate successor Hassan Omar as one of the accomplices, noting that his rushed installation was unlawful.

He reiterates that he (Malala) served the party diligently but was removed without a hearing or trial, contrary to the law.

“My alleged removal as the UDA Secretary General was outright unlawful, unfair and a sheer blatant contravention of the party constitution and laid down due processes. Neither were any charges preferred against me in public or in private, to warrant and justify my removal nor was I given an opportunity to defend myself as required by law and the rules of natural justice,” he noted.

Malalah said he will not hesitate to move an open court if he does not get justice from the party’s Internal Dispute Resolutions Committee.
