“Ruto Vows Inclusion of ‘Mama Mboga’ and Boda Boda Operators in Development Plans”

President William Ruto has reiterated his commitment to including mama mbogas and boda boda operators in his policy initiatives.

Speaking after signing of the Affordable Housing Bill into law, President Ruto outlined how the housing plan will benefit not only mama mbogas and boda boda operators but also other individuals categorized as “hustlers” in the country.

He expressed his belief that through the Affordable Housing Program, these marginalized groups will have the opportunity to own decent homes.

He insisted that the Affordable Housing Program would dignify the lives of the people at the bottom of the pyramid in society.

“Many people have been asking us what happened to your mama mboga and bodaboda guys. I want to tell them our bodaboda and our Mama Mboga are firmly in our equation. This program will make it possible for a mama mboga who today pays rent at Sh3,000 to pay it and own a home in Kenya,” Ruto said.

“It will give a chance to a bodaboda guy and every hustler in Kenya who lives in a shack that has no water, electricity, or sanitation. It’s going to dignify their lives and they too like the rest of society can own a home.”

President William Ruto has insisted that the Affordable Housing programme must be corruption-free.

Speaking at State House Ruto said that integrity must be the pillar of the country’s housing project for it to be a success.

President William Ruto has signed into law  the Affordable Housing Bill to pave the way for the return of housing levy deductions.

The Bill seeks to have all Kenyans, both salaried and non-salaried, pay 1.5% of their monthly pay to the Affordable Housing Fund.
