Peter & Faith make final touches ahead of Thursdays LSK polls

Campaigns for the election of the next President of the law society of Kenya closes today.

Five candidates have lined up to succeed Eric Theuri whose tenure comes to an end this Thursday ahead of the election for the 51st  president of the lawyers body.

Speaking at her campaign event last night, the vice president of LSK Faith Odhiambo said she will prioritize the independence of the judiciary which has been under serious threat and the enforcement of the rule of law if she clinches the top seat.

Mrs Odhiambo who has been teaching law at the University of Nairobi called upon advocates to shun divisive politics and instead embrace unity in the fight to uphold the rule of law.

“The Vision is a Stable Progressive Bar, and the mission is PSP: protect the rule of law; stability of the Society; Progress of tge Bar, Practice and Welfare. We have the blueprint, all we need is a spirited leader to get us to it, and I am ready, able and willing to be that leader.” said Mrs Odhiambo

Her closest challenger Peter Wanyama has promised to empower the branches of the society to decentralize the privileges of the body to the members of the society

This as he exuded confidence in the polls body IEBC to conduct the Thursday election

Other for president of the society include former vice president Caroline Kamende, current council member Njoki Mboce, former council member Bernhard Kipng’etich and Peter Wanyama.

The representative to the JSC level has attracted Theuri, Omwanza Ombati and law professor Michael Wabwile.
