President William Ruto now says that he is looking forward to engaging with his American counterpart Joe Biden on a broad range of matters of mutual interest to our nations ahead of his State visit to Washington on May 23.
The head of state said minutes after the White House confirmed his visit that his discussions with President Biden will not only focus on sectors of economic, political and diplomatic spheres but also on “shared commitment to the fundamental values which define the strong policy convergence and robust strategic alignment of our enterprises, peoples and governments.“
“On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Kenya, I convey my deep appreciation to @POTUS and @FLOTUS of the United States of America, for undertaking to host me at the White House, during a State Visit to the United States of America on May 23, 2024,” Ruto said in a statement.
This as he left the country to attend the 37th African Union Summit of Heads of State and Government, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a statement, State House Spokesman Hussein Mohamed said the President will leave this afternoon and is expected to speak on the education inequalities in Africa, among other issues.
The theme of the summit is on building resilient education systems for Africa’s 21st-century human capital.
