CS Kuria Takes Over the Public Service Docket

Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary  Moses Kuria has officially taken over the docket from Aisha Jumwa.

CS Aisha Jumwa, now heads the newly formed Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage After the latest reshuffle made by President William Ruto .

CS Kuria stated that he will not spare anyone who shows signs of laxity as he plans to streamline service delivery to Kenyans.

Kuria expressed his commitment to improving the ministry’s performance by enhancing service delivery.

To set the ball rolling Kuria said that he intends to travel around the country to meet all public servants in an effort to foster his objectives.

In a statement after taking over from his predecessor Aisha Jumwa on Monday, Kuria said his vision is nothing short of a stellar performance.

“Delivery and performance of civil servants has been dear to my heart, and I’m here to re-engineer deliverance of Government services to the people of this country as H.E. President William Ruto desires,” he said.

CS Kuria has made a U-turn on his earlier statement that Kenyans will have to part with some cash to receive services at Huduma centers.

Speaking during the official takeover of the state Department of Public Service,Kuria  asserted that they will introduce a fee for services being offered at Huduma centers.

However, hours later, the CS denounced the statement and termed it as a mis-representation of what he meant.

”You have been enjoying these services without paying, there is no more free lunch. You have to pay for it, we will introduce a fee for service for government service and private service to support our e-commerce because huduma Centre will be the backbone for e-commerce,” Kuria said.

Kuria said the fee-for-service will enable the 52 huduma Centers across the country to generate revenue and ease the pressure on the exchequer.

Kuria was one of the eight Cabinet Secretaries whose dockets were affected in a mini Cabinet reshuffle instituted by President William Ruto on October 4.
