A 70yrs mother of 10 embroiled in a land tussle to spend night in remand

A seventy old mother will on Wednesday night spend in police remand pending hearing and determination of a case where she is accused of forcefully acquiring a parcel of land.

The mother of ten was sentenced to the Mandera GK prison after she was unable to raise a bail that would grant her release.

The woman identified as Rukia Shukri, was embroiled in a tussle over a parcel of land that also doubles up as inheritance of her sons.

Rukia has been fighting for the ownership of the land without a representation of the legal counsel.

According to those of the defense team, Rukia has been frustrated to get an advocate so she spend behind bars.

Advocate AhmedNassir Abdullah says this would prompt the seventy year old drop the case.

The case is set for mention by the Mandera court on the 18th of October 2023.
