President Ruto appoints a panel to select a new DPP

President William Ruto has appointed a seven-member selection committee for the recruitment of the next Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

In a gazette notice, Central Organization of Trade Unions boss Francis Atwoli and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission CEO Twalib Mbarak, are among those appointed.

Others are Solicitor general – Shadrack Mose, Mary Kimenye, Roseline Odede, Mary Maungu, and Richard Obwocha.

This follows the appointment and swearing in of Noordin Haji as the National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director following the conclusion of his term as the DPP.

Noordin Haji was sworn in at an event presided over by President William Ruto, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and a host of cabinet secretaries and other judiciary officials.

In his speech, Ruto promised to accord Haji his full support, urging him to work diligently and serve Kenyans without discrimination.

“Congratulations Noordin on your appointment as you prepare to serve the people of Kenya. You have my full support and that of my team. I know you will make us proud as you have done at the previous office where you served diligently,” said Ruto.
