Controversial pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church has been arrested over the alleged indoctrination of the public.
He was arrested a day after he was grilled for hours over claims his church is also involved in cultism.
Coast Regional Commissioner Rhodah Onyancha said the pastor was arrested in Mavueni, Kilifi county.
“This morning we have arrested Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni on allegation of the deaths that have been occurring at his premises and reported to various morgues or institutions,” Onyanja told the media.
She said this was because there were allegations of deaths reported on his premises.She also ordered the closure of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church.
According to Onyancha, his arrest came amid allegations of deaths that have been occurring at his premises and reported to various morgues or institutions in the region.
Pastor Ezekiel’s church has also been closed down, according to Onyancha, while an investigation is underway.
“We have also taken action and closed down the prayer center moving forward, we are telling the public that the prayer center has been closed down,” She added.
He is currently at Coast Police Headquarters.
