Manchester city are two points off the top of the premier league table after a convincing 4-1win over leaders Arsenal.
Kevin de Bruyne scored twice with john stones and Erling Halaand on target for the crucial victory.
Rob Holding gave Arsenal a consolation goal but the gunners remain top with 75 points. Arsenal has however played two more matches than City meaning the title is in the Manchester control.
City can go top with victory at Fulham on Sunday while Arsenal must somehow pull out of a slump that has seen them go four league games without a win at a crucial stage of the season.
City Manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his side after the full time whistle saying the fight is not yet over with seven matches to play.
“We cannot lose our focus. Now it’s in our hands,” said Guardiola.
Halaand’s goal means that he is now the highest top scorer in a season having scored 33 goals breaking Mo Salah’s record of 32.
He became just the second player in the competition’s history, after Lionel Messi, to achieve the accolade.
