Broadcasting and telecommunication principal secretary Edward Kisiangani says they have no intention of gagging the media.
Speaking during the Connect summit 2023 in Diani the PS said they are determined to support the national broadcaster KBC to be the leading agent for Gov’t information.
Kisiangani maintained that the government will not interfere with the media space.
He insisted that the Media should provide a neutral platform for competing ideas.
“The media in Kenya should continue being neutral and they will receive Govt’s support. We shall not interfere with the media space.”
The broadcasting PS said both the ICT and media sector will deepen the needed collaboration to benefit from both strengths and synergies .
“Both the ICT and media sector will deepen this much needed collaboration so that we benefit from both strengths and synergies – Prof. Kisiangani, PS Broadcasting”
“This Government will not close down any media houses, now or in the future.”
