KALPA issues notice of withdrawal of labour from KQ

The Kenya Airline Pilots Association through its secretary general Captain Muriithi Nyaga, has issued a statement of withdrawal of labor by Kenya Airways pilots.

The pilots state that effective 5th November, there shall be no KQ aircraft departing JKIA flown by a KALPA member.

This follows a 14-day industrial action notice to the management of the national carrier seeking betterment of their working conditions.

The associations decries the lack thereof; of any meaningful attempt to engage and have the matters solved.

Pursuant to chapter 4 of the constitution, the association now says it is at liberty to withdraw their services.

This comes in the backdrop of the labor court suspending the strike after KQ moved to court earlier this week.
