The Independent Policing Oversight Authority says it has launched investigations into the killing of prominent Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
It is reported that Sharif’s killing by police was a case of mistaken identity.
Head of IPOA Ann Makori, says that a rapid response team has been sent to investigate the killing of the journalist.
She has assured Kenyans of the authority’s full commitment to delivering on its mandate.
Further, Makori stated that they are putting together efforts to ensure they minimize cases of extrajudicial killings and disappearances.
The renowned Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was killed on Sunday night in Kajiado county.
Earlier police spokesperson Bruno Shioso said they are investigating the circumstances behind Mr Sharif’s death.
