President William Ruto yesterday held talks with US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken where he expressed appreciation for Kenya’s support for the UN Security Council resolution denouncing Russia’s sham referenda in Ukraine.
This comes as Russia vetoed a UN Security Council resolution which described its attempts to unlawfully annex four regions of Ukraine earlier as a threat to international peace and security.
This comes as Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pledged to push out the Russians from all of Ukraine.
Anthony Blinken also reiterated Kenya’s commitment to upholding international law.
At the same time, the Secretary discussed with President Ruto ongoing U.S. efforts to address the fertilizer crisis.
In a statement, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price added that the two also discussed the ongoing conflict in northern Ethiopia.
