Any Dispute on Nomination List, Go To Court; Chebukati Advises

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has tasked those challenging the allocation of nomination seats in both the house of assembly and the senate to move to court.

In a statement postulated on their official social media pages, the chairman of the poll agency notes that the commission only used the names submitted by the respective parties.

He added that the allocation of the seats was under the formulae provided by the constitution, hence the disparity in the number of names from different parties.

The statement has further urged anyone feeling short changed to use the courts of justice to contest the selection.

At the same time, the commission is currently leading a post election formulation conference attended by the chairperson and the other four IEBC commissioners.

In this regard, IEBCKenya says that the post-election evaluation workshop is meant to review its performance in the just concluded 2022 General Election.
