Supreme court confirms receiving Odinga’s presidential petition

The Supreme Court has confirmed Azimio’s Presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s presidential petition against William Ruto’s election.

In the petition, Odinga and his co-petitioner Martha Karua are seeking 23 reliefs including an order for inspection of IEBC servers and scrutiny of the rejected and spoilt votes.

They also want an order for scrutiny and forensic audit of the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (Kiems) kits, the IEBC portal and the presidential election forms including Forms 34A, 34B and 34C.

In addition, the two want IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati exempted from presiding over a repeat election.

While addressing the state at KICC, Odinga condemned corruption which he states guided the results.

The former premier blamed the low voter turnout on the corruption incidents.

He added that the attempts to compromise elections have triggered intense conflict among citizens.
