Azimio la Umoja to move to the Supreme court

Azimio la Umoja, one Kenya Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has rejected the results of the Presidential election held on 9th August .

While speaking at the Kenya International Convention Centre, Odinga says his coalition party will move to the supreme court to seek redress .

According to Odinga, IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati acted with minority members of the commission to announce the final results of the presidential tally. 

“Let no one take the law into their own hands. We are pursuing constitutional and lawful channels to invalidate Chebukati’s illegal and unconstitutional pronouncement. We are certain that justice will prevail,” Raila said.

Raila also termed the four IEBC Commissioners who disputed the results announced by Chebukati heroes of the August 9 election.

The latest pronouncement by the Azimio leader now means that they have until Monday 22nd at 2pm to file a petition at the supreme court.

If a petition is filed, the supreme court will have fourteen day to hear and make a determination.
