Koome appoints judges and magistrates to swear-in governors-elect

Chief Justice Martha Koome on Sunday appointed the judges and magistrates who will oversee the swearing-in of the governors-elect and their deputies into the office.

According to Koome the appointment is in accordance with the Assumption of Office of Governor Act,2019.

It is also per the schedule to conduct the swearing-in ceremony upon election and gazettement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Among those appointed include Justice Roselyn Aburili and Honorable Caroline Kabucho, who will swear in Nairobi Governor-elect and his deputy.

Others include Justice William Musyoka and Honorable Teresa Odero who will head the process in Kisumu.

In Nakuru County, Justice Weldon Korir and Honorable Edna Nyaloti will conduct the exercise.

In Kilifi County, Lady Justice Margaret Mwangi and Honorable Dennis Mtutu will oversee the handing over, while in Tana River, it will be overseen by Justice John Onyiego and Honorable Leah Waigera.

Justice Richard Mwongo and Honorable Lucy Mutai will swear in Isiolo Governor-elect and his deputy.

Justice Robert Limo and Honorable James Mwaniki will swear in Makueni Governor-elect and his deputy.
