Kenya Kwanza to stop teachers' delocalisation if elected in August

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance has vowed to scrap the controversial transfer of teachers as a way of keeping families of teachers intact, if elected in the general polls.

Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua, while campaigning in Kathangariri, Manyatta, Embu County, said the move by the Teachers Service Commission has broken families as teachers get transferred to places far from their homes.

When Kenya Kwanza gets into government, we shall scrap this delocalisation program. We shall not be party to breaking families,” said Gachagua. “Teachers will only be transferred from their home areas on their own volition.”

He added that with his principal William Ruto, their government will employ an additional 116,000 teachers as a way of addressing the pupil-to-teacher ratio in school.

With the addition, teachers will be handling 35 pupils per class,” said the Mathira MP.

Gachagua also promised that the Kenya Kwanza government will waive the National Hospital Insurance Funds contributions for poor families.

We shall also reduce premiums from Ksh.500 to Ksh300,” he said, “We are tired of raising funds for offsetting hospital bills.”

He also castigated the Azimio coalition, asking them to refrain from challenging the IEBC on matters elections.
