IEBC has Conducted Second Simulation Exercise

The Independent Electoral and boundaries commission conducted its second presidential election transmission simulation exercise at the National Tallying station at the Bomas of Kenya.

The commission has affirmed its commitment to a transparent and secured voting process during the August general election.

The exercise was driven by the IEBC Information, communication and Technology team. While giving the report of the exercise, IEBC ICT official Julius Nyangaya maintained that the transmitter is end to end encrypted  and in the event of  interference the results will be rejected

IEBC says the results will also be available in the portal to enhance transparency Martin Nyaga an ict official added that the gadgets used to transmit results will be whitelisted to ensure that no one will send in results from unauthorized gadgets

The exercise sampled 580 polling stations and lasted for a period of  two hours.

With concerns from a county like Mandera, whose fiber cable lines were cut,  affecting the transmission of 6 polling stations from the region.

The IEBC also noted the 1,111 polling stations that have not been covered by 4g or 3g networks.
