The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) will from 27th of June to 7th of July 2022, conduct interviews for 30 candidates who were shortlisted for the position of the Judge of Court of Appeal.
This comes after the interviews were delayed when the High Court barred the commission chaired by Chief Justice Martha Koome, from conducting them following a suit that was filed by the Katiba Institute.
Katiba Institute wanted the interviews stopped until the judges whom President Uhuru Kenyatta had refused to confirm over alleged integrity issues, were appointed.
The judges include; Joel Ngugi, George Odunga, Weldon Korir and Aggrey Muchelule.
Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi now says the interviews will take place with four candidates interviewed per day starting from 9am to 4pm.
Among those set to be interviewed are 22 serving judges including Alfred Mabeya – the presiding judge of the Commercial division, High Court Principal Judge Lydia Achode and Judges Abida Ali Aroni, Eboso Benard Mweresa and Githua Cecilia Wathaiya.
