The court has ordered one Dennis Karani Gachoki, to remain under police custody until the 8th of June, so as to allow for further investigation of the murder of slain Mugo Mugota.
Karani had surrendered to the DCI where he denied killing Mugo saying he only met him twice that is in Meru and Nairobi.
The officer told the court that the prosecution needed 14 days to enable them to complete the investigations.
“I implore the court to take notice of the clip going viral on social media where one man was captured by CCTV footage. For clearance of doubt, the crime was committed by more than two people. The person who committed the murder fled to the car that was parked by,” the court was told.
He is suspected to be behind the wheel and he is said to be in possession of a firearm.
Karani, who is the main suspect in the Mirema Drive killing, is also linked to fraud-related cases that are pending in court where he is accused of receiving money believed to have been acquired illegally.
