Jubilee Party Vice-Chairman David Murathe says Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is still in the Azimio Coalition.
Speaking to a local media house on Sunday, Murathe said that Kalonzo cannot exit the camp at the moment.
“Kalonzo is still in Azimio because the coalition agreement says you cannot leave 6 months before the election or 3 months after election,” said Murathe on NTV.
Murathe however reiterated that Kalonzo is not being forced to stay in Azimio.
He also noted that Kalonzo is free to run on a Wiper ticket, which has been addressed amicably by the coalition’s leaders.
“He is not being forced by anyone. If he would want to quit and vie as a presidential candidate on a Wiper ticket then we have no problem with that ,” stated Murathe.
“As far as I am concerned he is in Azimio to stay and as far as I am concerned he is free to run.”
This comes after Kalonzo announced his departure from Azimio after failing to secure the coalition’s party running mate position to deputize Raila Odinga.
