The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) now says political parties must submit all the names of their aspirants from the nomination by 28th of this month.
In a statement, IEBC chairperson has also asked Political Parties to submit the names of aspirants, dates and venues of the nominations on or before Saturday, 9th April.
Parties must also conduct the nominations and resolve any disputes by 22nd of April.
Presidential aspirants have also been asked to collect statutory forms for purposes of collecting particulars of their supporters at the IEBC.
They will also be expected to submit the documents to IEBC by 23rd of May to be approved as candidates. Independent candidates will however have to submit a clearance certificate from the registrar of political parties confirming they are not members of any political party by 2nd of May.
The ODM party began its party primaries on Monday this week and is expected to conclude by 21st of April. On Monday Taita Taveta and kwale finalized their nominations despite complaints of the use of digital voting.
Mombasa county nominations are being done today with the gubernatorial ticket hotly contested between businessman Suleiman Shahbal and Mvita MP AdbulSwamad Nassir.
The UDA party led by deputy President William Ruto will hold its primaries from 14th of this month the same day as the ANC party.
The president’s party jubilee is also expected to hold its nomination from next week in a number of counties.
