Kenya rugby 15s team to currie cup named

Head Coach Paul Odera has announced the Currie Cup bound Simbas travelling squad.

Naming the team, Odera said it was important to take the tour in South Africa where the team will prepare well for the Africa rugby world cup qualifiers that come in July in France.

The team is scheduled to depart for South Africa on Thursday and is scheduled to stay there for close to two and a half months.

Odera added that in South Africa, his side will face top players in the world and give them an edge over the opponents in the world cup qualifiers .

The Simbas will face Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Namibia in the July qualifiers for a place in the rugby world cup in France.

The team will be captained by Dan Sikuta and will feature many players from Kenya cup champions Kabra Sugar, menengai oilers and former champions KCB. Veteran Collins Injera is also expected to join the team in May.
