Counter terrorism police unit says the three terror convicts who escaped from the Kamiti maximum Prison have been arrested.
In a tweet the police unit said the three who have been at large for the last four days were apprehended in Kitui county .
The three convicts are Mohamed Ali Abikar, Joseph Juma Odhiambo and Musharaf Abdalla Akhulunga.
The arrest of the three will come as a sigh of relief to the interior ministry who has already had heads rolling. Prisons department boss Wycliffe Ogallo sacked by president Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday following the jail break .
They are expected to be charged with aiding the escape of the three terror convicts .Lawyers Dantan Omari and Cliff Ombeta, are representing Mutembei and the other suspects.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Brigadier John Kibaso Warioba as the new Commissioner-General of the Kenya Prisons Service, to replace Ogallo.
