An arrest warrant has now been issued against Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali for failing to appear in court on the 4th of October 2021.

Mr. Ali was expected in court after Nordin Hassan Abdalla, a terror suspect for whom he stood as a surety, skipped bail.

The MP has since indicated that he is not aware of the issued warrant of arrest. “We went to court and the case was scheduled for hearing on October 18th. Is there a warrant I am not aware of? I am not aware, to be honest,” he stated.

The MP however said that he was ready to cooperate with the authorities noting that he had tried to withdraw the surety in the case.

I don’t know how it changed because the last time I tried to withdraw the surety they refused and insisted I bring him. So we are supposed to go back to court,” he added.

Also known as Kamanda, Abdalla was charged with the offense of being in possession of radicalization articles.

He however denied the charges before a Kwale court and was released on bail with MP Mohamed Ali offering to stand as a surety for the accused.

The accused was arrested in 2019 at Shimoni area in Kwale while conducting recruitment and radicalization of the local youth.
