Ministry of Health officials will today roll-out Pfizer vaccinations, after the arrival of the final consignment of 2.2 million syringes to be used for Pfizer vaccines in the country on Sunday.
The final batch of syringes is expected today.
An additional 35,100 Pfizer vaccines were received in Mombasa on Saturday.
It was the last consignment of the vaccine donated by the US Government.
Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache says the Kenyan government continues to commit funds for procurement of more vaccines by engaging manufacturers and other stakeholders both at national and regional levels.
She then called on health facilities to ensure they upload information of every person being vaccinated to the Chanjo platform and further called on more Kenyans to get vaccinated.
“This is important in ensuring that we get accurate reports for purposes of planning. I want to caution here that those facilities that will not comply shall be delisted as vaccination centres,” said Mochache.
Meanwhile, 3,874,083 vaccines have so far been administered across the country.
The Ministry of Health says the uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 31.6 percent.
The proportion of adults fully vaccinated is 3.4 percent.
