Family of the late Kenya rugby icon Benjamin Ayimba appeals for financial help

The family of the late Rugby icon Benjamin Ayimba and the  Kenya Rugby Union are appealing  for assistance in footing his pending medical and funeral bills.

Family spokesperson Oscar Osir  says pending hospital bills amounts to  Ksh 1.7 million and an additional one million shillings for funeral preparations.

The late Ayimba who led Kenya sevens team to the first Olympic games and the first main cup triumph in the IRB series in Singapore died on Friday after a long illness.

Family says he will be buried in Two weeks time in his Siaya home.

Family and friends are expected to meet each and every Tuesday and Friday from 5.30pm at the YMCA in South C, Nairobi County for the funeral arrangements.

Ayimba will also be remembered for his exploits as a player in the 15s rugby before he turned attention to sevens rugby as player and coach.
