Attorney general’s application to have BBI judgement stayed gets certified

An application by Attorney general Paul Kihara seeking to have the BBI Bill judgement stayed has been certified as urgent.

A five judge bench will rule on the application on 26th of May, next week on Wednesday.

The AG filed the appeal challenging the high court’s ruling last week.

It declared the BBI process unconstitutional, null and void.

In a document dated May 14, Solicitor General Kennedy Ogeto said that the office was dissatisfied with the court’s judgement.

He added that it would appeal the court’s decision.

The AG, says he is not satisfied with the entire judgment and that the High Court erred in law in its decision.

A notice of appeal has also been filed by the Attorney General, IEBC and the BBI secretariat.
