IEBC boss confirms Juja and Bonchari election preparations are complete

IEBC says preparation for the by elections in Juja & Bonchari Constituencies are complete ahead of the polling day tomorrow.

IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati has assured of a credible process to all candidates .

In Bonchari, IEBC cleared 13 contestants who include  Zebedeo Opore of Jubilee, Pavel Oimeke of ODM , Mary Sally Otara of United Green Movement and Margret Gesare Nyabuto of the Maendeleo Chapchap party.

The seat fell vacant after the death of the area MP John Oroo Oyioka who succumbed to COVID-19. 

In Juja constituency the battle will be between Jubilee’s Susan Waititu and People’s Empowerment Party candidate George Koimburi. 

James Kariuki will run on an independent ticket and Kanu will field  Dorcas WAnjiru . 

The Juja seat fell vacant after the death of Francis Munyua Waititu. 

IEBC says all measures to curb COVID 19 in the by-elections will be adhered to.

Polling stations will have thermo-guns, sanitizers, and handwashing points. 

Regarding the High Court’s ruling saying IEBC lacks quorum to undertake any processes in respect to the BBI amendments, IEBC boss chebukati says they lodge an appeal .
